ScoutChat E-Permission Slips

ScoutChat E-Permission Slips

Parents
Parents can give permission for one of their children by checking the Permission Granted checkbox on the event page while “Responding for” is set to the child. Permission can be revoked by unchecking Permission Granted while “Responding for” is set to the child. Permission cannot be un-checked after the event start time.

Youth
When youth are RSVPing for themselves, they can see the state of the Permission Granted checkbox but cannot change it. If a child RSVPs Yes when permission has not been granted, ScoutChat will attempt to send a notification to their parent(s) indicating that permission granting is needed. A popup message will be displayed to the youth:

  • A notification has been sent to your parent(s) requesting they grant permission for your participation in this event.

Parents

  • The event RSVP report shows which youth have permission.
  • E-Permission processing can be enabled or disabled by Chatmasters on the More/Unit page.
  • Permission processing is not used for meeting events or for events that have “Do not request RSVP” checked.
